Family Open Days

Our Family Open Days offer a great opportunity to take a peek behind the scenes of our lovely little theatre. A chance to try on costumes, get hands on with arts and crafts or join one of our taster workshops, there is always something for everyone. Look out for our next open day around Easter 2018.

International Women’s Day

Our annual celebration of this important day. Details of our International Women’s Day Event 2018 to follow.

We Live Here Too

Last Autumn Cumbernauld Theatre Company presented Full House; a production which was staged as part of a series of new performances made with members of our community.

Spanning a 5 month period of intensive work with a family (Craig McManus and Darren Soave) a bespoke performance about their lives was created.

The performance was part of the We Live Here Too programme – a three year creative collaboration celebrating the theme of family- bringing to the stage real life drama with stories from people living in and around the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth area.

We Live Here too aims to:

Connect with real families in the Cumbernauld area and celebrate their story through theatrical performance.

Create an opportunity for a family to receive a high quality arts experience removing all potential barriers to participation

Create a dynamic and professional performance piece, through collaboration and engagement.

The application process will soon be open for families wishing to take part in year two of this unique participatory experience.

The People’s Company

Cumbernauld Theatre’s People’s Company (formally The Actors Group) brings non-professional actors together with professional theatre-makers to stage challenging and memorable pieces of theatre.

Over the 5 years of its existence the group have staged a variety of challenging texts including:

A Flea in her Ear,

The Ballroom of Romance,

The Rivals,

A Doll’s House,

Heartbreak House,

An Ideal Husband,

The Government Inspector.

Details of their 2018 production will be made available very soon.

If you would like to get involved in community productions please email or phone 01236 732887.
