Cumbernauld Theatre looks forward to welcoming you and your families this Easter. We have a multitude of events and activities to keep you occupied over the school holidays so why not come and visit? Here’s what you could be part of…

 

 

Photo Cinema Masterclass – Tuesday 3 April, 10am-4pm

Explore photo collage and projection to make amazing mixed media performances with this one day masterclass. Have fun experimenting with old photos, collage, live feed video and projection to make your own live cinema performances. Bring in one of your favourite photos and you will even get the chance to make you or one of your family or friends the starring role! The workshop will end with a live performance where you can invite friends and family along to premier your masterpieces!

Suitable for age 7+.

Mini Makers – Thursday 5 April, 11am-12.30pm

Join your little one to help them create an arts and crafts masterpiece. Get creative and maybe a little bit messy!

Galoshins – Thursday 5 April, 1.30pm

A Scottish Folk Drama, all told in rhyme with skilled glove puppetry and live accordion.
Galoshins battles with his adversary, the mighty Admiral, but their encounter does not end well for our protagonist. A doctor must be found to revive our hero, Dr Brown, the finest and the funniest doctor in the town. As comic routines abound this unconventional medical fixer-upper, who’s partial to a wee fish supper helps bring the play to a happy end. Everyone promises never to fight no more and be as good as brothers as we ever were before!

Family Fun Day – Saturday 7 April

A fun-filled day packed with lots of activities for all the family including arts and crafts, storytelling sessions, drama taster workshops, face painting and you can dress up with costumes from our shows.

Easter Academy – Monday 9-Friday 13 April, 10am-4pm

Calling all 8-11 year olds who want to get creative and confident! Join us Monday-Friday 10am-4pm on the second week of the school holidays to create a play in a week. Then bring your family and friends along to see your show. Just £35 for the week!

Little Light – Tuesday 10 April, 1.30pm

Using shadow puppetry, table-top puppets, object theatre, dance, music and animation, this new multi-media production tells the story of a lonely boy who discovers companionship and trust through the curiosity of a mischievous star from the sky and the devotion of a faithful dog.

Home Sweet Garden – Friday 13 April, 1.30pm

Poppy and Will love to play in their garden. But what will happen when it disappears one day?
Home Sweet Garden is a gentle and charming for young audiences. It tells the story of a family and their front garden through the use of puppetry, music and audience interaction.
