Cumbernauld Theatre is committed to storing and protecting your data in full compliance with GDPR regulations (as of 25th May 2018). You can browse our website or make enquiries with our Box Office without disclosing any personal information. However, if you choose to book tickets or workshops, register to be kept up to date with our events, or provide your personal data in any other form, we will only process your data in accordance with the relevant legislation.
When you book over the phone, in person or online, we will ask you if you would like to receive information from us about events, news and offers that we think will be of interest to you. You can proceed to purchasing your tickets without signing up for our marketing updates.
If you do choose to opt in to receive marketing from us at the time of booking or by signing up to our mailing list, you decide by which method we can contact you i.e. by post, email and/or phone. You can also opt out at any time.
Should you solely wish e-marketing to stop, please click the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of one of our e-mails.
We will stop sending you marketing information if it has been 3 or more years since you last booked tickets with us, unless you have recently told us you still want to receive our updates.
We will never share your details with third party organisations.
Please note, if you wish to book tickets without disclosing any personal information you can do so by visiting our box office. However, please be aware, if we do not have your details, we will not be able to contact you for reasons of legitimate interest, for example, to inform you if the event you are attending has been cancelled or there has been a change of time.
We take all measures to ensure your personal information is kept safe and secure.
If you are purchasing your tickets online, our booking pages are encrypted to a high standard meaning that your information is secure.
After we have received your information, we use up-to-date technology with a view to protecting that information against loss or misuse. We also only allow authorised personnel access to personal information you provide.

Cumbernauld Theatre may share anonymised data with other organisations, including funders, who use this to analyse Cumbernauld Theatre’s activity to understand the impact of investment.
None of your personal information is shared with partners, funders, visiting artists, companies or creative organisations – your data is stored and used solely by Cumbernauld Theatre.
As part of the registration process for our mailing list, Cumbernauld Theatre asks for personal information in order to tell you about upcoming events and to contact you if additional information from you is required. Cumbernauld Theatre will check records are correct and review annually that you are happy and satisfied with the information you receive. Cumbernauld Theatre does not rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
Cumbernauld Theatre uses a third-party provider, MailChimp, for e-marketing. Cumbernauld Theatre gathers statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to monitor and improve our own e-marketing. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails. Please note, you will not be contacted more than twice a month for each box of interest ticked at the time of sign up to our mailing list. You can amend your options at any point by contacting our Box Office.
Google Analytics & Heat Maps
When you visit cumbernauldtheatre.co.uk, we use Google Analytics and Hotjar to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. Cumbernauld Theatre does this to find out things such as the volume of traffic to various parts of the site. Cumbernauld Theatre does not make, and does not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
