AUDIO VISUAL/ PRESENTATION EQUIPMENT

MAIN AUDITORIUM

The main auditorium is in an arena configuration with a flat floor stage area of plywood laid on wooden batons over a solid concrete floor. The audience seating is terraced on three sides of this performance area, with a fixed height L.X. grid over them. Maximum performance space: 13.7m (L)x 7m(B)x 5.5m(H). The seating is of individual tip up chairs with arms, with a capacity of 258. This can be augmented by the addition of up to 48 chairs at stage floor level depending on the nature of the performance, in two different formats. "end on" for proscenium style performances and on stepped rostra within the "proscenium recess" for in the round performances. The total maximum licensed capacity - 350 persons including standing patrons.

SCENE DOCKS/WING SPACE

The wing space/scene docks consist of two room areas adjacent to the proscenium area of the stage, one stage left and one stage right, each with double door access to or from the stage at their down stage end and double door access onto the crossover at their upstage end. Max space: 6m x 6m x 2.6m.

SCENERY AND EQUIPMENT ACCESS

The get-in double doors (2m high x 4m wide) on the back wall upstage of the cyclorama and crossover, open from a flat stage level external unloading area which is reached from the main car park by an inclined drive/ramp. The maximum vehicle length/width/weight which can safely negotiate the ramp is a 7.5 ton box van, normally driven down and reversed up.

DRESSING ROOMS

There are two dressing rooms both with hand basins, WC, full length mirror, make-up mirrors and lighting. These are situated below the auditorium seating, in the down stage area, stage left and right of the vomitory. Dressing room capacity 8-12 persons each maximum. There are two additional WC and two showers within the backstage areas.

LIGHTING CONTROL

The lighting control position is situated in the control room above the vomitory end of the auditorium. This has a large double glazed window overlooking the whole auditorium and stage area. Access to this control room is from the foyer area. The lighting control system received a complete upgrade and replacement of control desk, racks and facilities in August 1993. Desk ARRI Imagine II - 250 Racks 96 x 2kw ARRI Smartrack.

SOUND CONTROL

The sound control position is normally situated in the control room above the vomitory end of the auditorium. This has a large double glazed window which opens fully overlooking the whole auditorium and stage area. Access to this control room is from the foyer area. There are however two secondary operating positions within the auditorium itself, one at stage level stage right of the vomitory and one in the seating area directly above the vomitory. The sound system equipment was replaced and upgraded during January 1994. Desk: 24 way soundtracs Amps:MHA Chameleon 2 x 1kw Speakers: 2 x Sherman Commando (main) 4 x Sherman Cubs (Fill).

PIANOS

1 x Steinway Grand Piano plus 1 x Rodgers Upright Piano. Both are regularly maintained and tuned. On request (with sufficient notice) they will be specifically tuned for your event. The cost of this will be charged to you.

STAGE MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATIONS

The stage management position is normally the control room above the vomitory end of the auditorium. This has a large double glazed window overlooking the whole auditorium and stage area. Access to this control room is from the foyer area. All cueing and communication is normally controlled from there. TP Ring Intercom. Millbank Show Relay and Paging.

Stage Manager's Desk:- This is a custom built unit which sits between the lighting and sound control positions. The desk can also be unplugged from here and reconnected in the stage left wing area, but with a commensurate loss of view and audibility of any performance. The desk houses cue light control, paging control, a ring intercom unit, a call button and a reading light.
