Youth Theatre Classes
Cumbernauld Theatre currently offers a vibrant, exciting and inclusive range of drama and musical theatre classes for children and young people (age 3 to 18).
Each term we use drama based activities, to help develop and increase confidence and creativity as well as interpersonal, social and performance skills. Through games, songs, storytelling, and more, our participants are encouraged to explore, play and create in fun, high energy classes that unlock imaginative thinking.
Our younger groups learn the building blocks of drama, with highly interactive workshop content that allows for discovery and experimentation. At this introductory stage, learning is encouraged through tutor led activities with a strong focus on creative play, spatial awareness, communication and confidence. This term we are delighted to be adding a new class for children aged 3-4.
At Intermediate and Senior level, groups are beginning to build on their skills, exploring in detail voice, movement and character through a variety of exercises including responding to stimuli, working with text and improvisation.
Our Musical Theatre Classes give participants the opportunity to experience the excitement of musical theatre in a dynamic, fun and interactive way. These classes allow participants to explore performance techniques, work as an ensemble and build on skills in acting, singing and dancing.
The Winter Term will run from September to November 2014 (No classes during the October School Holidays) and booking is now open! Classes are held at various times during the week, a copy of our time table can be seen below.
Throughout the year we also offer exciting holiday provision, the next one being in October. Watch this space for more details on that project!
The new term begins 6 September. Please click the image below for dates, times and prices.
